Shenandoah: Living History, 1963. Softcover. A rare complete unbound set of all 52 [reprint] issues of 1863 Harper's Weekly which were created and distributed to commemorate the U.S. Civil War Centennial between 1961 and 1965. The 1863 issues were produced throughout 1963. With woodcut illustrations, political cartoons, news, advertisements, features and more. These were reissued weekly during the 100 year anniversary of the Civil War by Living History, Inc. of Shenandoah, Iowa. Each reprint is only distinguished from the original by the existence of 'The Reissue of' above the title on the front cover and a small paragraph on the bottom of page two. Some light age-toning to paper and some with a light horizontal fold [as the issues were mailed folded horizontally but have been stacked and stored flat since receipt]. In Near Fine condition with no tears or chips. Issues appear unopened and unread. The publications were found organized and neatly stacked by date in boxes. Item #1115202408
