Item #200868 Letters to an American Lady. C S. Lewis.

Letters to an American Lady

Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1967. First Edition. Hardcover. Precedes the U.K. edition by two years. Between 1950 and his death C.S. Lewis wrote more than 100 letters to this American lady. Her name, not divulged in the book, was Mary Willis Washburne. She donated the letters to Wheaton College. They are not literary letters, there is little urbanity, wit or sentiment; there is little that reflects the author's interest in fantasy, almost nothing about his academic and scholarly interests. Fine but for a small bookstore sticker at the bottom of the title page in near fine lightly soiled dust jacket. Fine / Very Good. Item #200868
